SINOPSE:
No rescaldo da guerra civil de Moçambique, visito a minha avó, confrontando-me com memórias desvanecidas e linhas ténues entre a verdade e a ficção. A presença de um antigo rebelde na aldeia ecoa os fantasmas implacáveis da guerra, reflectindo as tensões da minha geração.
SYNOPSIS:
Amid the aftermath of Mozambique’s civil war, I visit my grandmother, confronting fading memories and blurred lines between truth and fiction. A former rebel’s presence in the village echoes the relentless ghosts of war, mirroring the tensions of my generation.

Inadelso Cossa é realizador de cinema, produtor e DOP, membro da (AMPAS) Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science desde 2020. Fundador da 16mmFILMES, uma empresa de produção focada em documentários criativos e longas-metragens.
Os seus filmes abordam temas como a memória pós-colonial, o trauma pós-Guerra Civil, as vozes silenciosas e a amnésia colectiva em Moçambique. A história não oficial do seu país é quase sempre o veículo do seu cinema, onde o realizador se posiciona numa perspetiva pessoal. As Noites Ainda Cheiram a Pólvora é a sua segunda longa-metragem e teve estreia mundial no Berlinale Forum 2024 e estreia internacional no CPH: DOX 2024. O filme ganhou o Prémio Juri especial no Olhar de Cinema - Festival Internacional de Cinema de Quritiba 2024, Menção especial no Lima Alterna International film festival e Porto post Doc, Prémio do Júri no Doc lisboa International film festival 2024 e melhor documentário no Africa Movie Academy awards.

Inadelso Cossa is a film director, producer and DOP, member of the (AMPAS) Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science since 2020. Founder of 16mmFILMES a production company focus on creative documentary and feature films.
His films address themes such as post-colonial memory, post-Civil War trauma, silent voices and collective amnesia in Mozambique. The unofficial history of his country is almost always the vehicle of his cinema where the director positions himself on a personal perspective. The Nights Still smell of gunpowder is his second feature film and made a world premiere at Berlinale Forum 2024 and international premiere at CPH: DOX 2024, The film won the special Juri Prize at Olhar de Cinema – Quritiba International Film Festival 2024, Special mention at Lima Alterna International film festival and Porto post Doc, Jury Prize at Doc lisboa International film festival 2024 and best documentary at Africa Movie Academy awards.
